Passim Streams: Chuck McDermott

Watch Chuck McDermott perform from an empty Club Passim during this time of social distancing! All money donated will be split between Passim and the artist.
Chuck McDermott is “one of the most fascinating, under-the-radar singers of his generation”, according to former Boston Globe music critic Steve Morse. The Massachusetts Country Music Hall Of Fame inductee first made noise in the Boston music scene in the 1970’s with his alt-country band “Chuck McDermott and Wheatstraw”. With a decade of constant touring and two LPs that won praise from Rolling Stone, the New York Times and other publications, the group became one of the most popular live acts in the Northeast. In 1980, McDermott moved to LA where he formed the more rock-oriented Chuck McDermott Band. He also began a close collaboration with songwriting legend John Stewart, contributing to four of Stewart’s albums and touring with him as a duo in the US and Europe.
